the

tears & tulle

MoVeMent

Empowerment Guide, Gina Bell and Fashion Designer, Cassandra Youngs have teamed up in a brand new project that was created to inspire women everywhere to connect with their color…. right now. Not when we feel like everything is perfect. Not when we answer the last email. Not when our laundry is done. Not when things go the way we think they should. Right now. Right this very second. Right in the moments that make up our lives.

The Tears & Tulle Movement was created to celebrate women everywhere who are showing up in the world and connecting with their color from within the chaos of this beautiful, messy thing we call life.

Over a year's time, an amazing rainbow tulle skirt will travel to the homes of fifty-two different inspirational women who will wear it, play in it, snap a picture of themselves in it, and send it off to the next sparkly sister on the list!

The twist? Each person will pair the skirt with something black to emphasize her ability to show up in the world from within a place of darkness. A.K.A. our everyday struggles, hard times, and messy real-life stuff.

These are real women showing up and celebrating their ability to grow through their pain, reconnect with color in their lives, and take a stand for women everywhere.

The ‘tulle’ of our lives can be squished up, packed away, and seemingly forgotten. However, without a doubt, it can bounce back full of life and spunk when the whisper of our dreams is calling it out from the closet of our hearts.

A note from Gina…

We're all born with a rainbow tulle skirt of our very own. Sometime's we just need a little help remembering what that feels like.

If I close my eyes, I can still see myself wearing the original Cassandra Youngs rainbow tulle skirt. The skirt that is now traveling around the country and being shared by a tribe of spectacular women. Women who are all sharing their own stories and unique experiences.

Plus, our Tears & Tulle Tribes and Trailblazers who are sharing their stories while wearing skirts of their own, are an extension of the love and energy radiating out into the world from the birth of this project and the fifty-two brave women who chose to believe in it first!

That day I had intentionally paired the skirt with something black — a symbol of the responsibility we have to ourselves and the world to share our color from within our darkness. This skirt was the coolest women's empowerment 'tulle' I had ever used.

It dawned on me that day that myself and women everywhere are a lot like rainbow tulle skirts. It seemed very important to note that we didn't need to be a bride, princess, or ballerina to wear one.

We often become so busy and distracted by everyday life that we forget to stand up and connect with what makes us feel the most alive. Rainbow tulle skirts remind us of how colorful, durable, versatile, mysterious, and beautifully layered we all truly are, especially when we show up from within the messiest parts of life.

Also known as our 'tears.'

The tulle skirt is a lot like all of us, and it doesn't need any other additions - no bells, whistles, glitter, or gold - nothing to change it into something it is not.

The 'tulle' of our lives can be squished up, packed away, and seemingly forgotten. However, without a doubt, it can bounce back full of life and spunk when the whisper of our dreams is calling it out from the closet of our hearts.

Our skirt never leaves us. We have it from the moment we are born into this crazy beautiful life, and it grows alongside us as we navigate our way through life's many challenges and experiences. We just have to remember that it's always with us!

It is also stunningly transparent and knows how to make an entrance into the place way outside our comfort zone. Wearing the skirt helped me remember that I was fully capable of showing up and owning my color- and not waiting until life was exactly how I imagined it should be.

Especially when I'm climbing out of the laundry pile, locking my keys in the car, or burning the cupcakes black. Or when I feel left out, misunderstood, or sad. Also, when things are colorful, crazy magical and amazing! It's always with me.

My skirt helps me to take a stand for what I believe in, grow from the wisdom of my experiences, practice self-love, and lead from the imagination of my heart.

The skirt is a symbol of empowerment and love. It is also a reflection of the inner beauty we all have deep inside our souls. When we pair something black with a vibrant rainbow tulle skirt, we are exclaiming to the universe that we REMEMBER. And we are choosing to show up for ourselves and women everywhere.

Despite our modern comfort in social media perfection, life is in fact not perfect. Let us recognize and share the moments ranging from our deepest darkest strife to our most colorful and happiest.

A Note From CasSANDRA…

Thank you, Gina, for putting this concept together in organized form. We were both destined to give life to this project in which was heavily inspired by our human experience.

My past and the bumpy road I've traveled to get to where I am now was surely not a cake walk. I found myself in a dark depressing state of life and took note to when making a mental and physical change of perception.....the Rainbow and all things of color sparked my happiness. I found myself designing and sewing all things colorful.

This skirt was made with the sincere intention to inspire everyone to be true to themselves and to gather the strength to push forward no matter what obstacles may arise. It marks an independent and creative way of feeling about the personal stories of many.

Let us all be interconnected through the many colors of life and the stories of others knowing that we all fall victim to struggle, the consequences of choice and pure circumstance.

Let us learn, let us grow and give to one another what we've come to find.

Despite our modern comfort in social media perfection, life is in fact not perfect. Let us recognize and share the moments ranging from our deepest darkest strife to our most colorful and happiest.

Love the self that you are. Wear always the colors of your heart and let the shining sun reflect your soul toward the world. May your journey follow the inspiration of the rainbow always.

Many thanks to all the women whom are in participation. I feel excited to see how this all concludes.
