Winter Redd

Like pairing this joyous tulle skirt with the black outfit and balloons, being apart from my son Brannan brings me great grief and longing, but also happiness knowing I got to carry him for so long and that I get to look forward to getting to know him later.

⁣🎤IN WINTER’S WORDS...

Our first son Brannan was stillborn at 38 weeks in July 2018. We are expecting our next child, another baby boy, in January 2021.⁣ ⁣I don't love the term "rainbow baby", because it makes me think that our first son Brannan and what we have experienced is the "storm", and that this baby, our "rainbow baby", will make it all fine.

And that expecting this upcoming baby boy is exciting and wonderful, but it also is tainted with guilt and anxiety and sadness that comes along with pregnancy after loss.⁣ ⁣

They're my boys. I am learning more about myself and feeling the whole array of emotions because of both of them. And I will love each of them as their own person.⁣ ⁣

About Winter…

Winter is an investigational drug pharmacist by day and a food blogger and podcaster by night. She’s married to her chef husband, Lee, and is the mom of 4 yo Lucy and son Brannan who was stillborn.

Winter started her first podcast, Hungry Squared, in 2016 with her friend and cohost Sharon Titus about the nerdy side of food: food science, food history, and food design.

She felt the strong need to start a podcast about stillbirth and infant loss when she realized there were only a handful of podcast episodes that helped grieving parents, so Winter and Lee launched the podcast Still A Part of Uson their son’s would-be first birthday in July 2019.
