🎤IN ARIA’S WORDS...
This was such an empowering project. It was beautiful to know that I was a small piece in a big picture with so many incredible women involved. My favorite part of this was I knew some of the participants in other states! In preparing for my photos I thought about how meaningful it was to launch this project in 2020, and how representative of the year it was. So many people talk about the negatives of 2020, but there are also bright rainbow moments in the year.
This project is so powerful for women. It is such a representation of all we overcome in our lives and in the world. I thought about my tough times with trauma, separation, heartbreak, loss, abuse, and mental health struggles. It made me really see how far I have come in the past few years. The triumphs and rainbow moments in my dark clouds.
I am so proud to be here. To be alive. To be standing. To be a part of a project that represents that I did not give up. I took my broken bits and I turned them into Glitter.
