Wow, this skirt is definitely an attention-getter! And for someone who’s spent my entire career helping others be center stage, this took my ‘visibility as my own boss’ journey to an entirely new stratosphere!
As I wore the skirt I was reminded of how far I’ve come since leaving my corporate c-suite exec position and starting my own business. I mean, just 18 months ago you would’ve found me in a suit at a board meeting, not in a full-on rainbow tulle skirt that had my teenage son like “Mom, are you really going to wear that thing outside?!”
Taking a leap of faith, leaving the known and jumping into the unknown but hoped-for future, is what pairing the skirt with the black top represented for me. The darkness of our fears, worries and struggles can be turned into a rainbow of celebration for our victories.
What’s was also so very touching was how total strangers came over to help my fab photographer with fluffing out the skirt!! These folks had big smiles and excitement to help and said how fabulous it was just to see this rainbow today. What a powerful reminder to just show up and sparkle and trust that whatever help you need will come.
I love this picture so much too because it was taken on the eve of a milestone birthday for me. I’m also awaiting some very important news and this photo, this experience is a reminder for me to…
